Emergency Mobile Phone Images

When stuck in a pickle and you dial 999 then why not turn the phone into photo send mode. So once the caller has dialled an emergency number (in whichever country) then once they talk to the operator if they flip into camera mode and take photos, the photos taken are sent to the operator for additional evidence to support the call. Ideally verbal information would be more be more important than photos or videos but for some people this could be very helpful.

Watch My Moles

Image
A web site where you watch your moles by uploading and tagging to areas of your body. Also good to compare against other moles and do a quick animation of any changes in shape or colour. The website will show an image of the body where moles can be placed and then photos associated with the mole uploaded. They can be shown to have a colour status plus they can be tagged to show what is happening with them - suspect, removed, benign. Other options are to search the database for similar pictures or to make the pictures available to other users of the website when searching. A full report can be downloaded as PDF or you can request a high quality print at a cost. In other cases you can send a link to doctor or ask for a specialIst to have a look. NHS provide mole snap days Download a template to help take photos Not for profit site Reduce false alarms for patients and doctors Want to talk more then send me a post from this page using the form below.

A Cheap Radiator Filling Kit

Image
The last time I tried to top up a radiator with rust inhibitor I ended up spilling most of the it on the wooden floor and the room smelling of cat wee for a week. Not very nice. There is another part of the story which involved phoning the AA to repair the radiator, but I'll tell that story later. So this time round I thought I'd like to do it without the mess and without spending loads of money. Armed with an old bottle of bleach which is easy to squeeze and refill and an old pen it was very possible to create the kit. I used the nib of the pen which you can see the in the photo below - might take a while to get the right pen for the task but have a go. Hope this helps you as it did for me!

Can I buy Snakes and Ladders?

Image
After watching my daughter play the old board game Snakes and Ladders with her Grandad, I thought that would be a great game to buy for Mia to play . . . could I find a shop that sold it? Nope! I was looking for a £5 game but could only get compendium games at £20 with all the games you could ask for, including Snakes and Ladders. I then decided to save £20 and create a game from paper, an Oxo cube and some of Mia's princesses for counters. So here it is, 20 minutes of work completed. Snakes and Ladders Mia didn't manage a full game but hey, I saved some money and almost, just almost, completed our first board game with Mia. Hope it gives you inspiration to be creative and save money.

Free Power To Everyone

Image
Using the tide, a weight, some buoys and a few bits of rode let's create some free power for everyone. Tide goes up, electricity bills go down This is a source of power that comes at a steady pace from the sea, A steady pace that is for free. As the buoys go up and pull on a chain, The heavy weight is lifted up from floor. Our need for fossil power is no more! This idea is originally based on the idea from ecotricity.com for the sea mills project . I've decided to use them for my electricity in the future which will be interesting. If you would like to collaborate with this project or want more information then please send me a post below.

Simply Seats with a Table

Whilst walking to work today I saw a balcony that was empty and lifeless. Then an idea sprung into my mind - why not have two folding seats and a folding table on the balcony and then people could sit out and have a chat, a meeting, a piece of life in the outdoors for 20 minutes. This would be so nice and clean and clever it would take no time to create. So if you are a budding carpenter looking for a unique challenge with a special selling proposal then please contact me and I will tell you more. Narrow Balcony + Two Seats + Table = A moment of enjoyment

Chalk Story Boards

Image
This is a combination of the chalk boards ( chalkboards for learning ) and the cutting out of items from magazines ( free activity playsets for everyone ) to create some great story boards for kids or adults. Not having to worry about being great at drawing plus a nice way to introduce words and objects to kids. Chalk Story Boards - just add pictures Give your fairies a mushroom to sit on Take Pepper Pig to the fair Let Buzz Lightyear whizz past a planet Introduce Miss Happy to the word Happy So you paint a chalkboard and then collect those magazine and birthday card pictures, then you can create some great stories on the wall - keep them forever using a camera. I used blue tack to add the images to the chalkboard. Make your characters speak to you Number counting with Rainbow Dash Hallway family chalk board - with a pretty heart ... nice. Chalkboards for Learning

Image
Whilst living on a boat we had to create areas of interest for our daughter Mia to play in. When creating a doorway to cover the hatch exit we covered it in chalkboard paint so it could be used for lot of different things: Learning to draw and write with Mia Writing notes Leaving messages for other people So I say we can take this idea further just like in the image below and have chalkboards on every childs bedroom wall. Providing a fun learning area that is reusable and cheap to get up and running. I think this should be supported by governments and companies as a cheap and fun way to teach children and provide them with an area of creativity. So a simple kit would contain the following: enough paint to create a 2m x 2m square paint brush instructions on how to use the new "chalkboard for learning" chalk to last for a month sign up to receive a quarterly newsletter on activities for the chalkboard Number counting with Rainbow Dash

Write party invites onto them - with the address and time of the party on the back Use them for creating a puppet show - each stick can have four characters or four different emotions (happy, sad, angry and hurt) So start collecting them now - ask Dad to save those sticks used to twirl his coffee and turn them into toys. Future Blog

Image
Use blogging as a future tool to help guide you towards an ultimate goal - a life changing goal! Whilst talking to Evgenia at work she talked about how she'd like to become a Yoga teacher for kids and if she'd started doing something about it then by now *today* she'd probably have done it! So here's a thought for using blogging as a tool to bring the future to you now: Create a new blog for you dream - you can use a blogger of your choice Add an entry in the far future of what you want to do - become a kids' yoga instructor in two years time Tag these entries as "future" Create some blogs in the middle of how you need to achieve this ultimate goal - such as become trainined in yoga Now visit the blog every month and see where you are and update your progress my-future-blog.blogspot.com For more inspiration then look at the CV Blog  or visit an example Future Blog now.

Find a Car Park Space

A phone application to find a car parking space quickly. As you pull into the Ikea car park you open the phone application which shows you a map of the car park, it has some suggested free parking spaces or you can click on a space where you'd like to park. The application keeps you up to date on spaces and will suggest a new space if the one you went for is taken. I see this being implemented with: * Cameras placed to detect the free spaces using photos (this could be offered as a temporary solution) * Mobile application that shows a simple grid map orientated from the drivers perspective. * A great way to see how car park spaces are used for the company

Paper Table of Ideas

When having meetings anywhere - bars, office, coffee houses - have paper table covers that people can write on and express their ideas whilst people talk. Encourage people to write what they mean on the paper table cover so that they can be recorded. This would also be a good way to express negative thoughts and comments as well. The organiser can then take the table cover and take photos of it and report the findings to the other participants. Something like this for menu placings

Time to Share

Image
What a strange world we live in with many people living in a big old house by themselves. Would it be possible to get people to share a house when they live alone - take two old ladies who would like a bit of companionship, reduce their heating bills and reduce the worry and get release some money from the equity in the house. They both live in a big house - so the idea that one of them sells up and moves into the other house. Splitting the money accordingly on sale of the house and possibly modifying the new house with lifts, toilet on ground floor and other modifications that would help them. So what does this bring to the people who would use this? Release some money/equity from the sale of a house Provide companionship by sharing the house Release a house onto the market for buyers - so fewer houses would need to be built Reduce the worry of winter bills and bills in general I see the website based on a dating site where people would match their likes and dislikes ag

Quarter Size Christmas Trees

Christmas trees that only take up a quarter of the space of a normal tree? How is this possible you ask? Well using smoke and mirrors you too can have a full size tree for quarter of the room. I lied about the smoke - that's purely optional. The idea is simple where a tree quarter the size is backed by two mirrors to give the illusion of a complete tree. Excellent where space is an issue - on a boat or in a small room.
