Image
In memory of my dad who passed away on the 14th July,2013 here is a clear cut user interface that looks good on a big monitor and a small screen. Enjoy and ask for the source files if you want them! JAHUI - Version 14.07.13 List of Sites with status List of Locations - use spiral pattern for layout Quick overview of Performance - latest at 88% and overall at 65% Disco Mode! Party time . . . Possible uses for this project are: - User Interface for monitoring services - Rolling animation for large and small screens - University project to show how to build screen layers and control screen content Looks great in mobile devices as well On a Google Nexus

Robots Ready - R R R

Image
Robots are Ready - Rrr Rrr Rrr. Here is a robot we built - record a robot voice on your mobile phone and drop it into the robot's head to hear it speak back to you. Kids will love it. Try speaking into a fan during summer and you'll get a robotic voice - our daughter found this out for herself.  A smaller version of the robot Love robot? Only used sellotape to bolt it together Simple to build using seven innocent smoothies boxes for legs, a big box for the body. Two tissue boxes with some yoghurt pots on the end. A box on top with eyes made from bottom of squash bottles with glued tin foil on the inside. Just use a bit of sticky tape and slots in the box to add the arms.

Is it a car? Is it plane? No it's just a box!

Time to build a car. Get a box, cut out a steering wheel with some buttons and drop a chair in it. Job done.  Then convert it into an airplane. Cut the wings and add a tail.

Draw on everything ...

Image
Time to draw on everything and anything. The wall between the front room and living room was being knocked down, so time to draw ... My Little Ponies - a test draw on a wall to be knocked down Here we have taken a tabletop and created a game on the top, the bottom is flat as well so turn the table over to make it a normal (boring) table for everyday use. Players are my daughters favorite ones! Counters are coins with numbers stuck to them - have to add values up to work out number of moves (includes a bit of maths into the game). Create a game on top of a table top Monsters University  is a favorite of our daughters. Plus Tinkerbell in Disney movies. So why not draw them when you can? Monster's University Monster's University drawn on the child's gate used to lock Buster the dog in the kitchen.  Chalk pictures on the wall  - say hello to Tinkerbell Tinkerbell chalked onto the side of the house. Monster High on on an old scooter.

Digital Monsters Device - Build Your Own

Image
Build your own Digimon device to make your own digital monsters come alive. Built using a piece of wood and a piece of shiny material found on the road. Our daughter loved this series of Digimon and loved the Yoshi digi-device . Easy to build and a great toy for her. DigiMon T.V. Series

Liquid Doors & Walls

Doors and walls made of liquid (or a feel of liquid) that you squeeze through. A novel idea for an art installation? A new fun way to enter builds? As you push your way through the liquid wall or door they move away to ease access, moving in a predefined way so you can end up coming out the same way you came in or creating a different.

Side by Side

An idea for a program showing two lives unfold over 24 hours. Forget about " 24 " with Kiefer Sutherland this is 24 hours with two different lives in the world shown together. From getting up in the morning to going to sleep - a typical day (maybe edited slightly) showing morning activities , working habits, interaction with friends and being with family then lying down to sleep.  See the world unravel around them. See the efforts and challenges presented to each person. A white collar worker in America by a farmer in Africa. A market stall holder in Lincoln by a businessman in London.  On each hour of the day the camera rotates slowly with some haunting music to show what is happening around them. One spin for the sky; one spin round the feet and a closeup of anything that's wow or wonderful. If you would like to discuss this idea further then please contact me using the form below.

Snow Face

Image
Create your own Snow Face when the snow falls. Find some snow at least an inch thick or create your own pile. Take a deep breath and plunge your face into the snow and see the results. Here is my face pressed into the snow to show off my very own Snow Face. My Snow Face Do I look like Han Solo sealed in carbonite for delivery to Jabba the Hutt?

I can paint a Rainbow, Paint a Snowman Rainbow

Image
Paint yourself a Snowman Rainbow at winter, just add food colouring and watch the Snowman appear before your eyes. Obviously it will look like an explosion in a paint shop but what great fun. Paint yourself a Snowman Rainbow
